Extended Well Test (EWT) Export Systems - Turnkey Supply
Axis Energy Projects specialises in the turnkey supply of extended well test (EWT) export systems. We have strong management experience and engineering capability as well our equipment inventory; we own sufficient equipment, available from stock, to provide all major components required for the EWT fluid transfer system.
It is a short step from extended well test to an early production system and a separate EPS data sheet is provided.
In addition to the system design we prepare and manage all mobilization, installation, operation and removal procedures and provide field installation supervision.
The export system can be installed from an AHV or a suitable supply vessel with no necessity for diving or ROV support, although an ROV survey capability may be useful if available.
Installation equipment for any given solution can be provided by third party suppliers on a rental basis.
Offtake tankers may be dynamically positioned or moored conventional tankers. The choice is one of economics with moored tankers providing the most cost effective solutions on longer duration EWTs and/or where harsher environmental conditions are likely to be encountered.
Where the offtake tanker is to be a moored conventional tanker the Axis Energy Projects' Axis Mooring System (AMS), shown below, provides a fully weathervaning low cost mooring solution. Mooring components, chain, anchors, buoyancy, etc, are provided on a rental basis from third party suppliers.

EWT SOLUTIONS
Individual solutions can be tailored to suit projects specific parameters such as: the projected duration of test, geographical location, water depth, associated metocean conditions (wind, waves and current) with the selected tanker and production requirements.
A traditional solution is often referred to as ‘rig-flowline-tanker’. While there are advantages in using a drilling rig if intervention in the well is anticipated, other lower cost solutions are available.
TANKER SELECTION
Tanker selection will be governed by:
- the anticipated duration of the EWT
- the anticipated rate of production
- the geographical location of the field and associated metocean conditions likely to be encountered
- tanker availability and cost
